Meals for Children in Residential Institutions

Nutritional Development Services (NDS) provides meals to organizations that operate residential institutions for children requiring specialized care. The food service, menu selection, and nutritional value of the foods offered are supervised by NDS. NDS also supports the continued wellness of both residents and caregivers.

Food safety, in compliance with HACCP guidelines, is practiced and regulated. NDS is able to provide financial assistance through the federal child nutrition programs.

NDS is currently assisting over 25 institutions operated by Catholic Social Services.

NDS is a sponsor of this federal program that is run by NDS under contract with the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Sites have the option to be their own sponsor and can contract directly with the Pennsylvania Department of Education. For more information about direct sponsorship see the PDE website.
